Messier Objects

M50 is an open cluster visible through binoculars.

Other Deep Sky Objects

NGC 2232 and NGC 2264 are both open clusters which can be seen through binoculars. NGC 2246 is the spectacular Rosette Nebula.

Meteor Shower Radiants

The meteors in the Alpha Monocerotids are among the fastest colliding with the Earth and some can be very bright. Activity is quite variable, with outbursts occurring every ten years. The radiant lies near the star Procyon in Canis Minor.
